Re: National College Health Assessment Survey

Good Afternoon,

On February 22nd, you will receive an email invitation from the American College Health Association on behalf of UCSC asking you to complete the National College Health Assessment (NCHA). This survey, which UCSC has administered biannually since 2000, will be open until March 12th and is your opportunity to inform health and wellness efforts at UCSC. The more SLUGS that complete the health and wellness survey, the more representative our data will be. We want to make sure ALL voices are heard.

The NCHA is a voluntary and confidential online survey. The survey takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete, and asks questions regarding your health behaviors, attitudes and experiences–covering topics from COVID, mental health, nutrition, sexual health, exercise, sleep, substance use, and more. Our campus never receives any identifying information on individual students – only aggregate data.

Student Health Services and our partners across campus devote a significant amount of energy and resources to administering the NCHA because we use the information to create new or direct resources to existing programs that will make a positive difference in our students’ academic progress. This data helps inform our campus support services to students. This is your opportunity to share your voice and help shape health and wellness on campus!

As a thank you for your time, all students who complete the NCHA will be entered to win one of twenty $50 e-certificates to Grubhub, Trader Joe’s or other grocery stores.

Thank you for your time and consideration. For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact NCHA administrator Meg Kobe: mkobe@ucsc.edu

With Gratitude,
