Food Security
There are a number of resources on- and off-campus that support student parents who find themselves addressing food insecurity.
CalFresh
- CalFresh is a food assistance program that gives electronic benefits (EBT) to buy food at stores and markets. To get help applying with on-campus ambassadors, contact calfresh@ucsc.edu.
Food Pantries Additional Resources
- Within the Family Student Housing:
- Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Community Room (located in the building west of the Family Student Housing office).
- Open to all Santa Cruz residents.
- Other on-campus food pantries and campus retailers who accept CalFresh and EBT.
- Off-campus food pantries and resources.

- Service for Transfer and Re-Entry Students (STARS) offers a free meal plan lottery for student parents. Please contact starsprograms@ucsc.edu for more information.
