The Division of Student Success welcomes two new members to the team. Sara Radoff is directing STARS (Services for Transfer And Re-entry Students) and Chris Ramirez is serving as interim Veteran Program Coordinator.

Sara’s passion in life is working to transform educational policies and practices to make them more socially just. Her core values include developing caring relationships with students, colleagues and friends, seeking out opportunities for collaboration and connection, and unapologetically challenging systems of oppression.

Consistent with the mission of STARS, Sara is dedicated to serving non-traditional students and supporting their success. She most recently served as the Academic Preceptor at Oakes College. Prior to arriving at UC Santa Cruz, Sara worked as the Manager of Safety and Learning Abroad at the University of British Columbia, and before that as the Service-Learning Program Coordinator at Western Washing University. Sara received her B.A. in Philosophy from University of Montana, and received her M.A. from University of British Columbia, specializing in Society, Culture, and Politics in Education. Sara can be reached at saradoff@ucsc.edu.

Chris Ramirez is an eleven-year Marine Corps veteran (deployed to Afghanistan from 2004-2005) who graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2016 with a Bachelor of Art's degree in History. Chris collaborated on programming with former vets program director, Brian Ragunan, when Chris was a student at UC Santa Cruz. Chris will be working part time and will be on campus Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, but is also available by email at chcramir@ucsc.edu
